Thousands of day traders earning a living from arbitrage opportunities in Indian stock markets may become extinct in the next few years, thanks to the accelerating interest in algorithmic trading.
In electronic financial markets, algorithmic trading or automated trading, also known as algo trading, black-box trading or robo trading, is the use of computer programs for entering trading orders with the computer algorithm deciding on aspects of the order such as the timing, price, or quantity of the order, or in many cases initiating the order without human intervention. There could be thousands of codes written to buy or sell a security, currency or commodity at a particular level when one or more factors emerge.
Algorithmic Trading is widely used by pension funds, mutual funds, and other buy side (investor driven) institutional traders, to divide large trades into several smaller trades in order to manage market impact, and risk. These programs are so fast that people, who look at various developments and decide trade, would be left behind because a machine has done it in milliseconds.
Algorithmic trading may be used in any investment strategy, including market making, inter-market spreading, arbitrage, or pure speculation (including trend following). The investment decision and implementation may be augmented at any stage with algorithmic support or may operate completely automatically (”on auto-pilot”).
Example of Algorithmic Trading: A program could be to sell the stock fortunes of a particular company and buy the stock, if the fortune price is x% higher than the stock price. Also, it could be to compare a set of variables – if rupee is more than 45 to the dollar and crude oil is less than $60 per barrel, then software would sell Infosys futures and buy HPCL shares.
In 2006 at the London Stock Exchange, over 40% of all orders were entered by algo traders, with 60% predicted for 2007. National Stock Exchange (NSE) has approved applications of about 200 of its members to trade using algorithms.

People of YTB, hear the truth! People of YTB, you’re being bamboozled! YTB was started and was supposed to be a TRAVEL company! Your TRAVEL Biz! What has happened? Loss of income, loss of members and they brought in Aisle 19. More loss of income, more loss of membership, so it was switched to ShopYTB. More loss of income, more loss of members, loss of directors. Just look how many directors have left in the last 6 months, and the word was not even spread by the people that should have been spreading it, but by those outside of YTB!
This whole Zam Zuu stuff is just to draw your attention away from what is really going on. YTB couldn’t make it as a travel company, so they had to do something. Sure, they say that travel will still be a part of the “new” company, but to what extent? Hell, even Doug Bauknight, a member of Coach’s Corner and seeming “insider” says that “Travel will be included with the new e-commerce sites – but with limitations. A fixed commissin split of 60% on travel products, no training required (or offered), no ability to book directly or group offerings – and no type of travel industry credentials to speak of. However, the new E-commerce sites will have a stronger emphasis on retail products such as Best Buy, Macy’s, Home Depot, and the like to offer consumers cash back on their shopping experience.” (
http://www.justpictureitnow.com/)
What? A fixed commission split? No training offered? No ability to book directly with the vendors? No ability to offer group bookings? No type of any travel industry credentials, not even CLIA? What kind of TRAVEL company is that? Coach states on his Facebook page “Our Travel Agent Program is still functioning as it has been and will always be a main focus. (Note here that he says it will be “A main focus”, not THE main focus.) In fact, we have several people who are always working on new things for travel. There are several things in the works. Also if you notice, there is travel functionality in ZamZuu…What we’re doing is expanding our goals to help our people expand their customer base!”
Ladies and gentlemen of YTB, I submit that you re-examine why you joined YTB, and compare it to this “new” offering. Think about what you’re getting for the money you’re spending. If your reason for joining was to be a travel agent, just know that there are legitimate travel hosts out there that don’t cost you a penny. If your reason for joining was to save money by shopping online, know that there are companies (E-bates for example) that allow you to join without spending a dime, and gives you money back. If you’re reason for joining was to be a recruiter, then more power to you. But for those that claim that they don’t want to recruit, there are other, and better options!

Here’s a great tip from Kevin DaSilva of Mass Sponsoring …..
When writing and submitting an article I would “link” to a “blog post” that is also about that “specific topic”……
Here’s why…
If you link to a “lead capture page” then you are NOT really getting the benefits of the “link juice” you will be getting from all those links. Think about what will happen if you leave that company, or stop using that “automated systems lead cap pages”, etc…
Then all those link will be wasted!
Here’s an example of what I would do ……
Blog is about “Gardening”
Article is about …… “3 Tips On How to Grow Green Apples Quickly & Easily”…
Link to Blog Post named …… Final Steps To Quickly & Easily Growing Green Apples”…
Anchor Text of Link …… How to Grow Green Apples (words linked to blog post)
NOT ONLY will your prospects be happy because they are getting the EXACT INFORMATION they are looking for BUT you will also be pleasing the Search Engines because there is nothing they love more then “organization” just like this!
How About The Lead Generation?
Now what I would also do is put a “opt-in box”… IN THE POST ITSELF! Just paste in the HTML Code into the actual blog post (at beginning, middle or end… or all)
You can see an example of this on my blog at…
Mass Sponsoring
**Notice have I have the “opt-in” right within the post, right on the home page. I only use the “email” section and NOT the 1st name for “space purposes”.
Now you are getting the best of both worlds…
You’reenjoying the link and building your sites Authority… And at the same time they can “opt-in” for more info and be added to your auto responder!

My business has made a donation to the relief efforts in Haiti. We have decided to support the effort through Doctors Without Borders.
This blog will donate 100% of it’s advertising revenue to the organization effective immediately until further notice.
To keep me honest, I will post the ad revenue report as well as a donation receipt showing the amounts. It is an easy and inexpensive way to support our fellow humans. Thanks for your support!
If you prefer to make an outright donation (instead of a click) you can do so at Doctors Without Borders.

Over the past day or so, there have been many comments about Kim Sorensen and how he was named one of the Most Influential people in travel a few years ago. Some people inquired about his credentials in the industry–what Boards he sat on, what are his qualifications…CTC, ECC, etc.
While YTB has never really disclosed this information, I believe this interaction on Facebook kind of addresses it.
Yes, an “agent” asks for a recommendation for a hotel in Switzerland and one of the most influential people in travel tells her to go to Hotels.com and look.

“In honor of Healthy Weight Week, which begins on January 17th, Reliv International wants to remind people that a healthy weight is less about how they look and more about how they feel.
“A healthy weight does not involve a particular waist size,” said Dr. Carl Hastings, chief scientific officer of Reliv International. “It involves several factors, including your height, age and gender, as well as your activity level.”
Hastings says that by following a few simple dos and don’ts, which are listed below, people can develop healthy habits that will have a profound impact on how they look, act and feel.”

My friend Tim Flowers of the MLM Success forum should shared this tidbit …..
“Right when I said that there had been no new companies launched recently, I was just introduced to these two:
My Harvest America: a grocery mlm that lets you buy food and have it shipped to your home. I doubt this one will fly. Many well funded entrepreneurs have tried to harness the internet for grocery sales, and none have succeeded on a national scale yet. I have a few concerns with My Harvest America:
- one of the first people mentioned in the management profile is their attorney.
- there are numerous spelling errors on the site. A professional company wouldn’t let those slip by.
- the sample prices mentioned are much lower than even a wholesaler would pay. I’d guess those products are “loss leaders” but they may also try to profit by charging inflated shipping fees. In any event you have to pay a monthly fee to be eligible to buy from them.
Sovran Solution: a cigarette mlm. Wow, make money by introducing your friends and family to lung cancer!
According to their website, you can now buy cigarettes online, “Without risk of being reported to ANY Government Agency! Without ANY State imposed tobacco taxes!”.
How long till the feds shut them down or a state agency bars them from doing business in their state?
I can’t endorse either of these companies but I thought you’d be interested in reading about them.”
